New Green Field School, Alaknanda inaugurated recently built Box Cricket Arena and the Basket Ball Court in the school campus on 18th October, 2023. The event commenced with the ceremonial lamp ignited by the chief guest Mr. Saurabh Bhardwaj, the Minister of Health, Water and Urban Development (Govt. Of Delhi) accompanied by Ms. Ashu Thakur, the councillor of the area (MCD), in the gracious presence of the chairperson Mrs. Protima Parbhakar and the other dignitaries.
In his address, Mr. Suarabh Bhardwaj lauded the school management’s much appreciable endeavour for creating more opportunities to promote excellence in sports. He also urged students to stay focused and avail optimum benefits from this facility.
Amidst a loud cheer by students, the ribbon cutting ceremony was held followed by a friendly match played by the school cricket team and Captain of Sonnet Cricket Club Kairav Singhania who has been a Delhi State Player (Under-16) to officially herald the opening of the cricket pitch. The swirling of ribbons, the brightness of the pompoms, the waving of the flags and continuous cheering of the audience present in the arena marked the indomitable sporting spirit of the school students. The vibgyor coloured balloons were let off into the air towards the end to mark the jubilant and exciting spirit of the occasion.
